Wir befinden uns mitten in der Passionszeit, die viele Christen auch als Fastenzeit begehen.
In unserer Kirchengemeinde gibt es dazu seit Jahren die gute Tradition, während dieser Zeit zwischen Aschermittwoch und Ostersonntag bewußt auf etwas zu verzichten und das dadurch gesparte Geld Menschen zukommen zu lassen, die auf Grund menschlichen Fehlverhaltens und anderer äußerer Einflüsse leiden, und ihnen damit zu helfen.
Wir haben dank dieser Passionsspenden in den zurückliegenden Jahren Menschen in Ruanda, Kamerun und Malawi helfen können.
In diesem Jahr dienen die Spenden wieder den Kindern des Bildungsprojekts in Ruanda.
Mit Hilfe des Geldes (und anderen Spenden) soll u.a. ein karitatives Sommerlager für die Oberschüler und Studenten durchgeführt werden. Während dieses Lagers sollen sie sich ein wenig erholen können. Zugleich dient es auch dazu, das Bewußtsein zu stärken, daß wir als Patenkinder, Mitarbeiter und Förderer eine Familie sind, und mithin Verantwortung füreinander haben.
So, wie unsere Patenkinder eine fundamentale Unterstützung erhalten haben, die ihr Leben maßgeblich zum Guten verändert hat, so sollen sie nun auch für die jüngeren Patenkinder in unserem Programm ein Vorbild sein in dem Sinne, daß es sich auszahlt, wenn die Kinder die Chance nutzen, die sie durch die Förderung bekommen.
Die Schüler sollen im Rahmen dieses Sommerlagers auch für Familien unserer Patenkinder, sowie andere, externe und sehr arme Familien karitativ tätig werden, indem sie, je nach Bedarf, z.B. ein einfaches Haus für sie bauen oder einen Gemüsegarten anlegen etc.
Auf diese Weise hoffen wir, daß sie ein Verantwortungsbewußtsein für ihre Mitmenschen und die ganze Gesellschaft entwickeln, und letztlich zu einer guten Entwicklung ihres Heimatlandes beitragen.

We are in the middle of the Passiontide period, which many Christians also celebrate as Lent.
In our parish, we have a long-standing tradition of consciously giving up something during this time between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday and donating the money saved to help people who are suffering as a result of human misbehaviour and other external influences.
Thanks to these passion donations, we have been able to help people in Rwanda, Cameroon and Malawi in recent years.
This year, the donations will once again go to the children of the education project in Rwanda.
Among other things, the money (and other donations) will be used to organise a charity summer camp for secondary school pupils and students. During this camp, they will be able to relax a little. At the same time, it also serves to strengthen the awareness that we as sponsored children, employees and sponsors are one family and therefore have a responsibility for each other.
Just as our sponsored children have received fundamental support that has significantly changed their lives for the better, they should now also be a role model for the younger sponsored children in our programme in the sense that it pays off when the children make use of the opportunity they receive through the support.
As part of this summer camp, the students will also do charitable work for the families of our sponsored children as well as other, external and very poor families, for example by building a simple house for them or planting a vegetable garden etc., depending on their needs.
In this way, we hope that they will develop a sense of responsibility for their fellow human beings and society as a whole, and ultimately contribute to the good development of their home country.
