Natürlich war unser 1Welt-Kreis auch in diesem Jahr wieder mit seinem Informationsstand am 3. März beim Gottesdienst zum „Weltgebetstag der Frauen“ in der Hörselberghalle in Wutha-Farnroda vertreten.
In diesem Jahr hatten Frauen aus Taiwan den Gottesdienst vorbereitet und man kann sich vorstellen, daß angesichts der aktuellen politischen Lage in dieser Region der Erde die damit einhergehenden Sorgen der Menschen im Gottesdienst ihren Niederschlag fanden.
Sorgen bereitet uns als Eine-Welt-Kreis naturgemäß auch die Lage der Familien in Ruanda, aus denen die Kinder kommen, die unsere Paten in Deutschland und anderen Ländern unterstützen.

Umso wichtiger ist uns, daß wir über diese Situation berichten und wir freuen uns, wenn wir mit Menschen darüber ins Gespräch kommen können.

So geschah es auch an diesem Abend. Neben den Informationen zu unserem Projekt lag auch ein kleines Angebot an Gegenständen aus, die die Gottesdienstbesucher für eine Spende mitnehmen konnten.

Besonders gefreut hat uns dabei, daß auch die Gegenstände Beachtung fanden, die geistig behinderte Kinder einer Einrichtung in Butare angefertigt haben, und die ich im Mai 2022 dort erworben und mit nach Deutschland gebracht hatte.

Ähnlich wie bei uns brauchen diese Kinder besondere Aufmerksamkeit und Betreuung, doch die Kinder in Ruanda leben unter ungleich schwereren Bedingungen.

Ich danke allen Helfern unseres Eine-Welt-Kreises für ihr kontinuierliches Engagement und allen Besuchern an diesem Abend, die unserem Stand ihre Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt haben.

Of course, our 1World Circle was represented again this year with its information stand on March 3 at the service for the „Women’s World Day of Prayer“ in the Hörselberghalle in Wutha-Farnroda.

This year women from Taiwan had prepared the service and one can imagine that in view of the current political situation in this region of the world the concerns of the people were reflected in the service.
As a One World Circle, we are naturally also concerned about the situation of the families in Rwanda from which the children come who are supported by our sponsors in Germany and other countries.

It is all the more important to us that we report on this situation and we are happy when we can talk to people about it.

This is what happened on this evening. In addition to the information about our project, there was also a small selection of items on display that those attending the service could take with them in exchange for a donation.

We were especially pleased that the items that mentally handicapped children from an institution in Butare had made and that I had purchased there in May 2022 and brought back to Germany also attracted attention.

Similar to us, these children need special attention and care, but the children in Rwanda live under much more difficult conditions.

I would like to thank all the helpers of our One World Circle for their continuous commitment and all the visitors that evening who paid attention to our stand.

I have been affiliated with the Ecumenical One-World Group (OWG) in the Erbstromtal Valley, based at the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Ruhla/Thuringia for several years.
I met Pastor Gerhard Reuther in Wutha-Farnroda at a Woman’s World Day of Prayer service, where he was featuring the OWG Project.
He asked if I would be interested in supporting him with German to English translations, sponsoring a child and eventually accompanying him on one of his trips to Rwanda.
I eventually agreed to all three.

I am an American who has lived in Germany for 18 years.
Currenty, I am in America and recently visited my Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville, Kansas, where the EUCC congregation has been an active sponsor of Princess for several years.

My trip to America began in June as Pastor Reuther was just returning from Rwanda in May.
On Sunday, July 24th I was honored by the opportunity to present the pictures of Princess, her family and the interview video, which was conducted by Pastor Reuther and our on-sight project manager Laurette Mushimiyimana. This was the first time the Marysville congregation had an opportunity to connect with their fosterchild Princess in such a personal manner. Of course in the interim, Laurette has communicated appropriately from Rwanda.

The church members enthusiastically expressed their sincere appreciation for the presentation, as they now have a real connecton.
Pastor Julie Shields set the mood perfectly through her scripture selections and hymns along with her supportive comments. The church’s Mission Board was encouraged to receive this information about Princess.

I would like to say this in a simple way; Princess made her presence felt at the Evangelical United Church of Church in Marysville, Kansas!

How did she teleport herself?
This manifestation happened via the technical capability of Jerry Butler.
He not only digitally brought her into the church sanctuary, but also on another big screen television, downstairs during the coffee hour, which followed the church service.

This was a time for further questions about Princess and general questions about the One-World Group and it’s activities in Rwanda. Specifically we discussed the current agriculture project, where plots of land will not only be owned by the families, but be a source of nutrition and future income.
What let to this idea was that the last couple of times the pastor has been in Rwanda, he has purchased and given trees. Typically during visits, he has given our student families mango, avocado and macadamia trees.

During the coffee social hour, there was a generous outpouring for the replacement of Princess‘ glass eye. The one she has now was fitted when she was a little girl.
Now she is 13 years of age.
Unfortunately, at an early age she was struck in the eye with a stone while playing.

It was a great opportunity for me to play a role in bringing the EUCC and their fosterchild Princess together in a special way.
We’re all in this one world together, no matter the distance between us.

Every one of us has the inner desire to be acknowledged and loved by another and this is exactly what the One-World Group does.

Seit mehreren Jahren bin ich Mitglied des Ökumenischen 1Welt-Kreises im Erbstromtal mit Sitz bei der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirchengemeinde Ruhla (Thüringen).

Pastor Gerhard Reuther lernte ich in Wutha-Farnroda bei einem Weltgebetstagsgottesdienst der Frauen kennen, wo er das Projekt des 1Welt-Kreises (1WK) vorstellte.
Er fragte mich, ob ich Interesse daran hätte, ihn mit Übersetzungen vom Deutschen ins Englische zu unterstützen, eine Patenschaft für ein Kind zu übernehmen und ihn eventuell auf einer seiner Reisen nach Ruanda zu begleiten. Ich stimmte schließlich allen dreien zu.

Ich bin Amerikaner und lebe seit 18 Jahren in Deutschland.
Zurzeit bin ich in Amerika und habe vor kurzem meine Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville, Kansas, besucht, wo die EUCC-Gemeinde seit mehreren Jahren eine aktive Patenschaft für Princess übernommen hat.

Meine Amerikareise begann im Juni, als Pastor Reuther im Mai gerade aus Ruanda zurückgekehrt war.
Am Sonntag, dem 24. Juli, hatte ich die Ehre, die Bilder von Princess und ihrer Familie sowie das Interview-Video zu präsentieren, das von Pastor Reuther und unserer Projektleiterin Laurette Mushimiyimana vor Ort geführt wurde. Dies war das erste Mal, dass die Gemeinde in Marysville die Gelegenheit hatte, mit ihrem Patenkind Princess auf so persönliche Weise in Kontakt zu treten. In der Zwischenzeit hat Laurette natürlich entsprechend aus Ruanda kommuniziert.

Die Gemeindemitglieder drückten mit Begeisterung ihre aufrichtige Wertschätzung für die Präsentation aus, da sie nun eine echte Verbindung haben.
Pastorin Julie Shields sorgte mit der Auswahl von Bibelstellen und Liedern sowie ihren unterstützenden Kommentaren für die richtige Stimmung. Der Missionsausschuss der Kirche wurde durch diese Informationen über Princess ermutigt.

Ich möchte es ganz einfach sagen: Princess hat sich in der Evangelical United Church of Church in Marysville, Kansas, eindrücklich bekannt und erlebbar gemacht!

Wie hat sie sich teleportiert?
Diese Manifestation geschah durch die technischen Fähigkeiten von Jerry Butler.
Er brachte sie nicht nur digital in den Altarraum der Kirche, sondern auch auf einen anderen Großbildfernseher im Erdgeschoss während der Kaffeestunde, die auf den Gottesdienst folgte.

Dies war die Zeit für weitere Fragen zu Princess und allgemeine Fragen zum Eine-Welt-Kreis und seine Aktivitäten in Ruanda. Insbesondere sprachen wir über das aktuelle Landwirtschaftsprojekt, bei dem die Parzellen nicht nur den Familien gehören, sondern auch eine Quelle für Ernährung und künftiges Einkommen darstellen.
Auslöser für diese Idee war, daß der Pastor bei seinen letzten Besuchen in Ruanda Bäume gekauft und verschenkt hat. Bei seinen Besuchen hat er unseren Schülerfamilien in der Regel Mango-, Avocado- und Macadamia-Bäume geschenkt.

Während der Kaffeestunde gab es eine großzügige Spende für den Ersatz von Princess‘ Glasauge. Das Glasauge, das sie jetzt hat, wurde ihr eingesetzt, als sie noch ein kleines Mädchen war. Jetzt ist sie 13 Jahre alt. Leider wurde sie in jungen Jahren beim Spielen von einem Stein am Auge getroffen.

Es war eine großartige Gelegenheit für mich, eine Rolle dabei zu spielen, die EUCC und ihr Patenkind Princess auf besondere Weise zusammenzubringen.
Wir sind alle gemeinsam in dieser einen Welt, ganz gleich, wie weit wir voneinander entfernt sind.

Jeder von uns hat den inneren Wunsch, von einem anderen anerkannt und geliebt zu werden, und genau das tut der Eine-Welt-Kreis.
