Im Jahr 2021 feiert der Evangelische Kirchenkreis Eisenach das 500jährige Jubiläum der Übersetzung der Bibel – genauer genommen: des Neuen Testaments – durch Dr Martin Luther auf der Wartburg in Eisenach. Er übersetzte in nur elf Wochen das Neue Testament aus dem Griechischen ins Deutsche.

Der Künstler Nader Setareh aus Eisenach hat dieses Jubiläum zum Anlaß genommen, eine Serie von Gemälden mit dem Thema „500 Jahre Bibelübersetzung“ zu malen, die noch erweitert wird.
Herr Setareh ist Mitglied der Initiative „Künstler für Kinder“ und hat deshalb beschlossen, einen Teil des Verkaufserlöses der Gemälde dem Bildungsprojekt des „Ökumenischen 1Welt-Kreises im Erbstromtal“ zu spenden.

Auf der Website dieser Benefiz-Aktion schreibt er: „Mit dem Verkauf der Gemälde unterstütze ich das Bildungsprojekt des „Ökumenischen 1Welt-Kreises im Erbstromtal“ (Ruhla/Thür.) in Ruanda. Kinder und Jugendliche aus der ärmsten Bevölkerungsschicht erhalten durch Bildungspatenschaften und Spenden eine schulische und berufliche Ausbildung. Als Mitglied der Initiative „Künstler für Kinder“ spende ich 30% vom Erlös an das Projekt und lade Sie ein, sich über die Arbeit in Ruanda auf dem Blog des 1Welt-Kreises zu informieren…“

Die Bibel wurde bis heute vollständig oder in Teilen in 3395 Sprachen übersetzt. Damit ist die Bibel das am weitesten verbreitete und auch das am häufigsten übersetzte Buch der Welt. Wer sie in Kinyarwanda lesen möchte, der Sprache, die in Ruanda gesprochen wird, kann dies u.a. hier online tun.

In 2021, the Protestant Church District Eisenach will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the translation of the Bible – more precisely: the New Testament – by Dr Martin Luther at the Wartburg Castle in Eisenach. He translated the New Testament from Greek into German in only eleven weeks.

The artist Nader Setareh from Eisenach took this anniversary as an occasion to paint a series of paintings with the theme „500 years of Bible translation“, which will be expanded upon.
Mr. Setareh is a member of the initiative „Künstler für Kinder“ (Artists for Kids) and has therefore decided to donate a part of the proceeds from the sale of the paintings to the educational project of the „Ecumenical 1World-Circle in the Erbstromtal“.

On the website of this charity campaign he writes: „With the sale of the paintings I support the educational project of the „Ecumenical 1World-Circle in the Erbstromtal Valley“ (Ruhla/Thuringia) in Rwanda. Children and young people from the poorest population stratum receive a school and vocational training through education sponsorships and donations. As a member of the initiative „Künstler für Kinder“ I donate 30% of the proceeds to the project and invite you to inform yourself about the work in Rwanda on the blog of the 1World-Circle…“.

Bei meinem Besuch in Äthiopien im Februar 2020 hatte ich die Freude den jungen Maler Gebreyesus Asmare kennenzulernen.
Wir trafen uns bei einem gemeinsamen Freund, und bei dieser Gelegenheit zeigte mir Gebreyesus einige seiner Gemälde und Illustrationen.

Seine Bildmotive und Malweise haben mir sofort gefallen und ein kleines Büchlein, an dem er mitgewirkt hat, zeigt eine weitere Facette seines Könnens. Es geht darin um die Geschichte von Belaiy Seb, einem frommen Mann, der vom Teufel ausgetrickst. Der Text ist auf Amharisch und Englisch wiedergegeben und die Illustrationen hat Gebreyesus gezeichnet.

Es ist eine für Europäer exotisch anmutende Geschichte, und so habe ich sie mit Interesse gelesen und lade Sie ein, liebe Leser, dieses Buch zu erwerben. When I visited Ethiopia in February 2020, I had the pleasure of meeting the young painter Gebreyesus Asmare.
We met up with a mutual friend, and on this occasion Gebreyesus showed me some of his paintings and illustrations.

I immediately liked his motifs and style of painting and a small booklet, on which he participated, shows another facet of his ability. It’s about the story of Belaiy Seb, a pious man tricked by the devil. The text is reproduced in Amharic and English, and the illustrations were drawn by Gebreyesus.

For European listening habits it is an exotic story, so I read it with interest and invite you, dear reader, to purchase this book. It leads us into „Stories that are so colorful, rich and full of wisdom and that offer unique insights into this oldest African literature.“
