Lange hat es gedauert, und die Produktion des Albums lag mitten in einer aufregenden Zeit! Denn Jackson hatte an dem Wettbewerb „The Next Popstar“ in Ruanda teilgenommen, der uns lange in Atem gehalten hat. Am 14.3. fand abends die Schlußveranstaltung statt.
Jackson konnte die Siegestrophäe leider nicht entgegennehmen. Wir hatten so gehofft!
Die gute Nachricht ist aber, daß er es unter die TOP 4 geschafft hat! Das hat ihm eine große Aufmerksamkeit gebracht, wie er mir berichtete. Und wenn man bedenkt, daß an dem Wettbewerb 1000 junge Leute teilnahmen, darunter sogar Profimusiker, dann ist sein 4. Platz als Neuling ein absolut großer Erfolg!
Wir gratulieren also Jackson herzlich zu seinem Erfolg und wünschen ihm, daß sein Album viele Liebhaber und Hörer findet.

In seinen Liedern verarbeitet er u.a. Gedanken und Ereignisse aus seinem eigenen Leben, wie etwa in dem Lied „House of God“. Das macht sie authentisch und berührt. Mal verhalten, mal lebendig erzählen seine Lieder von seinem christlichen Glauben.
Jackson hat eine hoffnungsvolle Perspektive, wenn er genug Unterstützung bei der Verwirklichung seines Traums erfährt, Berufsmusiker zu werden.

mm1 – die Beratung für Connected Business hat sich dieses Jahr für eine Herzensangelegenheit entschieden und unterstützt mit ihrer diesjährigen Weihnachtsspende in Höhe von 2.500€ unser Bildungsprojekt in Ruanda.

Ihnen geht es sicher auch so: Weihnachten naht und schon werden wieder die Briefkästen in unserem Land mit Spendenwerbung aller möglichen Hilfsorganisationen und Vereine geflutet. Manche sind bekannt, andere nicht. Da geht die Übersicht schnell verloren.

Wir sind froh und dankbar, daß uns die Firma mm1 ihr Vertrauen geschenkt und uns in diesem Jahr mit einer Weihnachtsspende bedacht hat!
Mit dem Geld können wir z.B. eine Oberschülerin aus ärmsten Verhältnissen unterstützen, für die wir bislang keinen Paten gefunden haben. Anderenfalls hätte sie die Schule verlassen müssen und wäre ohne jedweden Abschluß in einer aussichtslosen Gefährdungslage.
Dies ist nur ein Beispiel, wie wir gezielt mit Spenden helfen können.
Im Übrigen hat sich bestätigt, daß die mündliche Werbung für unser Projekt den größten Effekt hat. Deshalb verzichten wir auf kostenintesive Werbung und Hochglanzheftchen, verschwenden auch kein Geld für Spendengalas und dergleichen Aktivitäten.
Wir danken allen Paten und Spendern, die unsere Arbeit im zurückliegenden Jahr unterstützt haben.
Ihnen und unseren Lesern wünschen wir ein frohes und gesegnetes Weihnachtsfest und ein behütetes Jahr 2020.

mm1 – the Consultancy for Connected Business has decided this year for a matter of the heart and supports our education project in Rwanda with its Christmas donation of 2.500€.

Christmas is approaching and the mailboxes in our country are being flooded with donation appeals from all kinds of aid organizations and associations. Some are known, others not. The overview is quickly lost.

We are happy and thankful that the company mm1 has given us their trust and has given us a Christmas donation this year!
With the money we can e.g. support a high school student from poorest circumstances, for whom we have not found a sponsor yet. Otherwise she would have had to leave school and would be in a hopeless dangerous situation without any degree.
This is just one example of how we can help with donations.
Incidentally, it has been confirmed that oral advertising for our project has the greatest effect. That is why we do not use cost-intensive advertising and glossy booklets, nor do we waste money on fundraising galas and similar activities.

GOTHA LIONS CLUB representatives contribute Rwanda project donation

Pastor Gerhard Reuther, founder of the „Ecumenical One World Group“, had his first encounter with the Gotha Lions Club chapter at a benefit event held at the barock Eckhof Theater.
Lions International is engaged in identifying and supporting circumstances where a psychological and/or financial need exists, irrespective of race, greed or religious orientation.
The Lions Club was founded in Chicago shortly after WWI with an intent to meet humanity’s need for a unified public spirit of brotherly love.
Since then Lions International has grown to some 46,000 clubs with over 1.4 million members. Germany currently has 1,517 clubs with a membership totaling 51,030. The Gotha Chapter was founded in the 1990s and has 36 participants to date.

Since meeting Pastor Reuther, Lions Club Gotha has continued it’s interest in the educational fostering activities of the One World Group. This culminated with their recent donation of 2,000 Euro, which came at a particularily pressing time for the appreciative recipient.
Approximately 20,000 Euro is generated annually by the Gotha Lions through a variety of fund-raising activities. For example, as the holiday season is upon us, the Club will be selling it’s famous, original recipie „fire-punch“ to elevate spirits with hot spirits of the many Christmas market visitors. This is just the impending Christmas event.There are many other venues throughout the year where the Lions are present, and, all in the common good for the betterment of mankind.

Now, thanks to the Gotha Lions, the Ruhla based One World Group belongs to this priviledged circle of recipients and therefore proudly continues it’s educational support for it’s impoverished and disadvantaged Rwandan foster children.
Many children in Rwanda go many years without any exposure to an education. Since 2007, under the umbrella of the Ruhla Evangelical Church, the OWG has acted in active support of this project. OWG is an inter-denominational alliance. Several of the local citizens have stepped-up to be foster parents. On the simple prerequisite of volunteer support, these Rwandan children are afforded broadened horizons through an education…somethiing we take for granted.
When special circumstances arise, such as required medical attention or financial emergency, the OWG maintains a donor supported general fund. A project social worker is in country and manages the financial affairs and regular visitations.
In January 2020 Pastor Reuther, along with two foster parents, will once again travel to Rwanda to meet with local partners, foster-children and the on-location management.
Next year Pastor Reuther will be the guest speaker at the Gotha Lions Club meeting. He will share his findings and reflections since he will have just returned from Rwanda.

Bei einer der Benefizveranstaltungen des Lions Clubs Gotha im barocken Eckhof-Theater kam es zum ersten Kontakt mit dem Ruhlaer Pfarrer Gerhard Reuther, der sich neben vielen anderen Ehrenamtlichen für den Ökumenischen 1Welt-Kreis stark macht.
Die Lions engagieren sich für Mitmenschen in seelischer und wirtschaftlicher Not, für freundschaftliche Beziehungen zwischen Völkern, Rassen und Religionen.
Entstanden ist diese Bewegung in Folge der Auswirkungen des 1. Weltkrieges 1917, als sich in Chicago ein Kreis von Menschen zusammenfand, um den Bürgersinn zu fördern, für Nächstenliebe und Gemeinsinn einzutreten.
Mittlerweile hat sich diese Anschauung über die ganze Welt verbreitet, in ca. 46.000 Clubs sind 1,4 Millionen Menschen organisiert, in Deutschland etwa 51.030 Mitglieder in 1.517 Clubs engagiert. Der Lions-Club Gotha wurde in den 1990-er Jahren gegründet, hat derzeit 36 Mitglieder.

So ist es den Vertretern des Gothaer Lion Clubs von großem Interesse, auch den Ökumenischen 1 Welt-Kreis für deren Ruanda-Projekt mit einer Spende von 2.000,- Euro zu unterstützen, da auch hier das Problem wirtschaftlicher Not im Mittelpunkt des Geschehens steht.

Circa 20.000,- Euro nimmt der Club jährlich bei verschiedenen Aktivitäten wie beispielsweise beim Verkauf einer eigens hergestellten Feuerzangenbowle auf dem Gothaer Weihnachtsmarkt oder anderen wohltätigen Projekten ein, um diese an hilfsbedürftige Personen oder Hilfsorganisationen zu weiterzugeben. Dazu soll nun auch der 1 Welt-Kreis gehören, der die schlechte Bildungssituation von Kindern und Jugendlichen in Ruanda verbessern hilft. Viele von ihnen müssen dort jahrelang ohne Schulbildung auskommen.
Seit 2007 wird unter dem Dach der evangelischen Kirchgemeinde Ruhla dafür aktiv agiert. Erfreut ist man darüber, dass sich Gemeindeglieder aus dem Erbstromtaltal und sogar teilweise darüber hinaus dafür engagieren. Einige Bürger aus der Bergstadt haben sogar Patenschaften übernommen.
Um den jungen Menschen in Ruanda eine Perspektive bieten zu können, braucht es Grundvoraussetzungen, und die werden über das Bildungspatenprojekt unterstützt. Sollten zusätzliche Ausgaben wie medizinische Notfallsituationen oder auch wirtschaftlicher Art anstehen, werden diese durch den sogenannten Kompensationsfond ausgeglichen.
Eine Projekt-Betreuerin ist direkt vor Ort in Ruanda tätig, um bei der Umsetzung zu unterstützen. …

Am Sonntag, 2.9., veranstaltete der Lions-Club Gotha sein alljährliches Benefizkonzert im Ekhof-Theater zu Gotha. In diesem Jahr war der Spendenerlös für die German Church School in Addis Ababa bestimmt.
Der Lions-Club fördert zwei Patenkinder an der Schule. Dieses Sozialprojekt begleite und unterstütze ich seit 1997. Durch die Tageszeitung haben wir vor einiger Zeit Kontakt zueinander bekommen und so wurde ich vom Initiator dieses Konzerts, Herrn Langhammer vom Lions-Club, gefragt, ob ich anläßlich des Benefizkonzerts einen kleinen Vortrag über die Schule halten möchte. Natürlich habe ich mit Freude zugesagt!
Und so kam es, daß ich mich plötzlich auf der Bühne dieses Theaters vor voll besetztem Theatersaal wiederfand, um meine Erfahrungen und Erlebnisse an und mit der Schule mit den Zuhörern zu teilen. Unter den Gästen befand sich auch die Schulleiterin des Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasiums in Gotha, das ein Patenkind an der GCS fördert.

Nebenbei bemerkt, war dies für mich ein interessantes Erlebnis, einmal auf der Bühne dieses außergewöhnlich schönen Barocktheaters zu stehen, nachdem ich dort schon einige Veranstaltungen als Besucher erlebt habe 🙂

Das Konzert gab mir Gelegenheit, in Gedanken wieder einmal durch all die Jahre zu streifen, seit ich das erste Mal von dem Projekt gehört habe. Ich erinnerte mich an die vielen Besuche bei den Schülern in der Schule und zu Hause, an die Freundschaften mit einigen Lehrern, und an die Absolventen der GCS, die ich noch als Schüler kennengelernt hatte, und die inzwischen einen Beruf ergriffen haben, z.T. sogar als Lehrer an der GCS.
Nun hoffe ich, daß der Funke meiner Begeisterung für dieses Projekt übergesprungen ist. Zumindest einer hat gezündet 🙂 Denn nach der Veranstaltung sprach mich ein Mitglied des Lions-Clubs in Hannoversch-Münden an, ob ich bereit wäre, auch dort einmal einen Vortrag über die Schule zu halten? Natürlich bin ich dazu bereit! Ich freue mich darauf.

Und ich freue mich über die überaus großzügige Spendenbereitschaft der Mitglieder des Lions-Clubs! Im Ergebnis der Veranstaltung wurden 6000 Euro gespendet, und der Partner-Lions-Club aus Hannoversch-Münden hat anlässlich des 25jährigen Bestehens des Gothaer Clubs noch einmal 500,00 € für den gleichen Zweck gespendet.
So bin ich dem Lions Club Gotha sehr dankbar für diese Gelegenheit, das einzigartige Sozialprojekt German Church School vorgestellt haben zu dürfen – und ich danke den Mitgliedern für ihr großartiges Engagement!

On Sunday, Sept. 2, the Lions Club Gotha arranged its annual charity concert at the Ekhof Theater in Gotha. This year, donations were earmarked for the German Church School (GCS) in Addis Ababa.
The Lions Club sponsors two foster children at this school. I have been accompanying and supporting this social project since 1997. Some time ago we got in contact with each other through the daily newspaper and I was asked by the initiator of this concert, Mr. Langhammer from the Lions Club, if I would like to give a small speech about the school on the occasion of the benefit concert. Of course I agreed with pleasure!
And so it happened that I suddenly found myself on the stage of this theater in front of a fully occupied auditorium, to share my experiences with the audience at and with the school. Among the guests was the director of the Herzog-Ernst-School in Gotha, who sponsors a foster child at the GCS.

By the way, this was an interesting experience for me to be on the stage of this extraordinary baroque theater after having experienced some events there as a visitor 🙂

The concert gave me the opportunity to reminisce about the years since I first heard about the project. I remembered the many visits to the students in the school and at home, the friendships with some teachers, and the graduates of the GCS, whom I had met as a student, and who have since taken up a profession, for the time being. Among them one even as a teacher at the GCS.
Now I hope that the spark of my enthusiasm for this project has jumped over. At least one has ignited 🙂 Because after the event, a member of the Lions club in Hannoversch-Münden asked me, if I would be willing to give a lecture about the school there once? Of course I’m ready! I look forward to it!

And I am delighted about the very generous donation of the members of the Lions club! As a result of the event 6000 Euro were donated, and the partner Lions Club from Hannoversch-Münden on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Gothaer Club donated another 500,00 € for the same purpose.
So I am very grateful to the Lions Club Gotha for this opportunity to present the unique social project German Church School – and I thank the members for their great commitment!
