Wir wußten nicht, ob wir unser Vorhaben würden umsetzen können. Die äußeren Umstände machen es einem schwer, in diesen Zeiten überhaupt etwas zu planen. Umso mehr haben wir uns gefreut, daß wir nun doch Amanda und ihre Mama in Potsdam treffen konnten!
Wie wir bereits berichteten, hat Amanda den Spezial Price Africa im Liederwettbewerb „Dein Song für EINE WELT!“, der vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung im Jahr 2021 veranstaltet wurde, gewonnen.
Damit verbunden ist auch, daß ihr Lied professionell in einem Studio in Berlin produziert wird und mit den anderen Gewinner-Liedern auf dem Album des Jahres 2021 erscheint.

Wir haben uns die Gelegenheit nicht entgehen lassen, uns mit Amanda zu treffen und so sind zwei Mitglieder unseres Ökumenischen Eine-Welt-Kreises zum vereinbarten Treffpunkt nach Potsdam zum Schloß Sanssouci gefahren.

Amanda wird seit zwei Jahren durch unser Bildungsprojekt in Ruanda gefördert, aber ich hatte bei meinem letzten Besuch in Ruanda keine Gelegenheit, sie und ihre Familie zu treffen. So war es für uns alle das erste Mal, daß wir uns persönlich sahen. Mit dabei war Frau Banha, die die Gäste während ihres Aufenthaltes in Deutschland begleitet.

Es gab viel zu erzählen und wir haben uns sofort gut verstanden. Unser Patenkind ist wirklich ein talentiertes junges Mädchen und hat genaue Vorstellungen, was sie künftig machen will, wenn sie die Ausbildung beendet hat: natürlich Musik!

Darüber hinaus möchte sie den Kindern, die keine Stimme haben, eine Stimme geben. Und das ist wirklich aller Ehren wert! Sie hat dazu sogar schon ein Lied komponiert.
Wir wünschen Amanda von Herzen, daß sie ihre Pläne und Visionen verwirklichen kann, daß ihre Stimme gehört wird, wenn sie sich für die benachteiligten Kinder einsetzt – und wenn sie Menschen aufruft, mit Hilfe unseres Bildungsprojekts solche Kinder zu fördern. Denn es warten noch viele Kinder auf eine Bildungspatenschaft!

We did not know whether we would be able to realise our plan. The external circumstances make it difficult to plan anything at all in these times. All the more we were happy that we could meet Amanda and her mum in Potsdam!

As we already reported, Amanda won the Special Price Africa in the song competition „Your Song for One World!“, organised by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. Her song will be professionally produced in a studio in Berlin and will appear with the other winning songs on the album of the year 2021.

We did not miss the opportunity to meet with Amanda and so two members of our Ecumenical One World Circle went to the agreed meeting point in Potsdam to the Sanssouci Palace.

Amanda has been supported by our education project in Rwanda for two years, but I did not have the opportunity to meet her and her family during my last visit to Rwanda. So it was the first time for all of us to see each other in person. Mrs Banha, who accompanies the guests during their stay in Germany, was also present.

There was a lot to talk about and we immediately got along well. Our foster child is really a talented young girl and has precise ideas about what she wants to do in the future when she finishes her education: music, of course!

Furthermore, she wants to give a voice to the children who have no voice. And that is really worthy of all honour! She has even composed a song for this purpose.
We sincerely wish Amanda that she will be able to realise her plans and visions, that her voice will be heard when she stands up for the disadvantaged children – and when she calls on people to support such children with the help of our education project. Because there are still many children waiting for an educational sponsorship!
